This module provides mentors with knowledge and skills related to distance learning, emphasizing the crucial role of the mentor in this context. It explores pedagogical aspects, digital tools, and innovative teaching strategies to make distance learning more effective, interactive, and engaging.
Objectives of the module
Mentors will be familiar with distance learning, its characteristics and types, the advantages and disadvantages of its use, and will be made aware of the crucial importance of the mentor's role in this type of learning. The mentor will become aware of the pedagogical aspects related to distance learning and will be able to adapt the training offer by providing students with diversified multimedia materials and interactive tools that make the lesson more profitable and light. The mentor will also be able to use the different platforms for distance learning and all their functions and use innovative teaching strategies to make distance learning more fun and easy for students, applying these concepts to the OPTIMA project. Finally, mentors will acquire competences on the tools and strategies needed to deliver the OPTIMA online training course effectively, developing effective communication skills to build meaningful relationships even at a distance.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module, mentors will be able to:
- Create a dedicated cloud space to share learning materials with students while simultaneously using the features offered by various cloud solutions.
- Structurate the sharing space in the most effective and functional way to support students in navigating the content and learning materials offered.
- Use the most commonly used digital technologies and tools in remote mentoring, so they can choose the tools best suited to their own needs and those of their students.
