1.3 Being able to transmit the project information to the learners
When a mentor prepares to lead a training course, the first thing they need to do is understand their audience.
It's therefore essential to remember that our course's target audience will be bivalve mollusc farmers, people who often spend much of their time at sea and who have extensive hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the dynamics of the industry.
However, these learners may not have a high level of formal education, even though their technical and practical skills will be high given their field experience.
Consequently, the course must be tailored to reflect this reality. It will be essential to use clear and direct language and provide content that is immediately applicable and relevant to their work. Let's now look at how to best approach this type of student.
